Crown & Bridge

The DWOS Crown & Bridge module is the foundation of prosthesis design and manages all aspects of the creation of a digital crown.

Unparalleled flexibility

DWOS meets labs’ needs for flexibility by allowing them to manage the unexpected. Moreover, DWOS enables lab technicians to maintain their creativity and freedom because it does not impose on them a step-by-step design approach.

  • Import and export STL files across applications: i) re-use previous designs as wax-ups or antagonist, ii) import additional patient information such as facial scans or jaw bone CBCT scans.
  • Change indication during design session at any time without restarting the full process from the beginning. Examples include change from a simple coping to full crown, split a bridge into three because of diverging preparations or remove a pontic as a result of lack of space.

Intuitive and user-friendly editing tools

The DWOS design and manufacturing modules are the most flexible and intuitive software solutions on the market. The easy-to-use advanced editing features are designed to save users time and the familiar dental tool references used across the whole software platform ensure that users are comfortable with the application.

Reference tools:

Global editing tools facilitate the global design by switching between editing tools on any given prosthesis.

  • Virtual waxer simulates the regular waxing knife, but gives free-form access to using the morphing mode
  • Global transforms enable users to freely scale, rotate and position the active design object
  • Clinical handles ensure morphologically correct designs
  • Simultaneous across-arch design capability
  • Real-time cut-back computation
  • Automatic minimum thickness adjustments
  • Wax-up adaptation
  • Occlusion correction

Customizable libraries provide tools for users to expand their design environment.

  • Material libraries
  • Anatomy libraries
  • Connector shape editor
  • Attachment library support with advanced CAD design merging feature

Extensive feature design capabilities

Since its inception, DWOS has adopted an “outside to inside” design strategy, allowing the framework design to be dynamically adjusted to the right occlusion while allowing space for porcelain. The Crown & Bridge module includes several design features that manage the various components of a digital restoration:

  • Copings and bridge frameworks
  • Telescopic crowns
  • Full contour bridges
  • Inlays, onlays and veneers
  • Over-pressed crowns and bridges
